Whole School Program

The program is designed to support whole school, sustainable change. It provides practical ways to strengthen partnerships between families and school staff and promote improved learning outcomes for students on the autism spectrum.

This free program provides a combination of face to face learning experiences and online learning activities, leading to the implementation of a school action plan.

Positive Partnerships’ Commitment:

Positive Partnerships commits to providing:

  • Quality, researched and evidence informed content and material to support the professional learning program
  • Pre and post workshop online learning activities
  • 1 Day workshop for Action Team
  • Venue and catering for Action Team planning day
  • 2 day workshop facilitated by experienced, skilled and knowledgeable facilitators
  • A small funding allocation is available to support schools’ participation in the program
  • Professional resource funding on completion of Day 2 of the workshop
  • Venue and catering for face to face workshop sessions
  • Workbooks and resources to support all workshop and online learning activities
  • Positive Partnerships Coordinator/Team Leader to provide training for the Action Team
  • Regular and ongoing support and correspondence with a Positive Partnerships Coordinator/Team Leader throughout the program. Advice, guidance and support will be readily available via email or phone
  • Access to the website resources that support and supplement the Positive Partnerships program

School’s commitment:

Schools commit to the following program requirements:

  • Form a school Action Team to coordinate the program and lead change within the school
  • Action Team attend a planning day where the team meet with a Positive Partnerships Coordinator/Team Leader
  • Have all staff complete the ‘Whole School Survey’ prior to the Action Team Day
  • Have all staff complete the ‘Introduction to Autism’ module prior to the workshop
  • All staff participate in 2 face to face workshop days, facilitated by Positive Partnerships, with the Action Team supporting colleagues at the workshop
  • All staff contribute to the development of action plan/s as part of the workshop, identifying priority areas for change
  • Staff to complete 2 follow up, interactive, online learning activities developed by Positive Partnerships
  • School Action Team to support staff to implement action plans
  • Participants submit a reflection on implementation of their action plans to Positive Partnerships
  • Complete a follow up school survey and evaluation approximately three months after the workshop
