New Resources

Did you know that Positive Partnerships has developed a number of resources for families that are culturally and linguistically diverse? These resources have been created with the support of community members, and are based on our learning from work within diverse communities. Some of the resources are:

  • Myths and Facts – a list of common misconceptions about autism as well as a factual response to each myth in order to support a greater understanding of autism.
  • What is Autism– an easy to read fact sheet for those that want an increased understanding of autism and its impacts, or for those supporting others in their understanding.
  • Guide to Using Visual Supports – outlines how and why visuals are used to support learning and routine, and to help with behaviour and independence.
  • Guide to Who Can Help - clarifies the role of different professionals that could assist the family and the child.
  • A Family Journey – an animation that provides a father's perspective as he thinks back on his early concerns for his son and where the autism journey has taken his family. It is a story that resonates with many different communities.

Also, Positive Partnerships has just translated these resources into 4 more languages!
