2016 Autism in Education Conference

Positive Partnerships proudly presented three sessions during the recent autism in Education conference in Melbourne. The first session was the chance to share our collaboration with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities to increase awareness and understanding to support individuals on the autism spectrum. During the second session the importance of partnerships was shared in raising awareness and increasing understanding of disability, and in particular autism, in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. During the final session we were able to share our experiences in working with whole school communities to support students on the autism spectrum.

During the conference many attendees visited our booth where they were able to explore our website, interactive resources and materials. A final highlight was the opportunity for the team to facilitate a session during morning tea on Day 1 with Parents and Carers in the Creative Space. Parents and Carers were able share a different brilliant as they discussed strengths, interests and talents of their young people on the autism spectrum.
